Welcome To Simply Well Beauty

Thank you for visiting Simply Well Beauty, where I take a holistic, integrative approach to beauty. At Simply Well Beauty, I focus on beauty from the inside out. I understand that beauty does not begin on top of the skin, and that makeup and cosmetics are only meant to enhance what is naturally there. Simply Well Beauty is the result of evolution and growth, and is truly focusing on what is next in the beauty and wellness space.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Simply Well Beauty began as a bridal beauty business. Formerly called M.A.W.Beauty Hair & Makeup Studio, I started my career as a licensed cosmetologist. Eventually finding my niche in bridal beauty, I opened M.A.W.Beauty Hair & Makeup Studio in 2011, servicing brides and their bridal parties in Rhode Island and all throughout New England. I built a team of artists, training each one to provide a quality of service that was truly unmatched. Additionally, I made sure that my team was trained to work with any and all hair types and skin tones - a skill that was truly missing in the New England area.

Beauty and Wellness Combined

Prior to opening M.A.W.Beauty Hair & Makeup Studio, I was introduced to the Network Marketing industry through a brand called Arbonne International. Arbonne is a beauty, health and wellness brand that gives people the opportunity to start their own online-based business by offering plant based, vegan friendly skin care, cosmetics and nutrition. After becoming an Independent Consultant with Arbonne, my knowledge and understanding of the correlation between beauty, health and wellness became very prominent in the way I approached beauty. Health and beauty go hand in hand, and I truly became more connected with skin care and nutrition than I was with makeup. This is because I believe that nutrition and skin care is the foundation for beautiful makeup - your makeup will only look as good as the skin it is applied to, and your skin will only look as good as what you're feeding it.

Blending It All Together

After operating M.A.W.Beauty Hair & Makeup Studio for nearly a decade, I found myself completely burnt out. I was experiencing lots of imbalance in various areas of my life. My nutrition wasn't at its best, I wasn't doing any physical activity, I was over worked, entangled in a toxic relationship, was lacking a connection with God - simply put, I was unhealthy. I loved my business, but I was personally suffering, and realized that I couldn't operate my business if I was unwell. So, I began to step back. I was taking less weddings and doing more internal work on myself. I left the bad relationship, gave my life to Christ and began to form a personal relationship with God, began focusing on relationships with friends and family that made me feel good and nourished me, started feeding my body more nutritious foods, and just went to work on me.

Through all of the personal work that I was doing on myself on my quest to wellness, I met my husband. I found out that I was pregnant in October 2019, my husband and I got married in December of that same year, and then - Covid19 hit in March of 2020. While the circumstances were less than ideal, the perfect storm of the pandemic and the timing of my pregnancy and birth of my son allowed me to take a step back and reevaluate things. I knew I love beauty, bridal, entrepreneurship, and wellness, but needed the space to figure out how to incorporate it all.

In May of 2020, I took a leap of faith and decided to enroll in a Health Coaching course with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I felt that I've taken so much continued education that was beauty and business focused, but never anything pertaining to the nutrition and wellness aspect of my interests. Taking this course has been a total turning point for me, both personally and professionally. I truly believe that blending my knowledge of beauty and nutrition will help people - including myself - live better lives. The truth is that makeup is fun, and it has its place for sure, but if you're not well and taking care of yourself internally and externally, then makeup is only masking things.

Simply Well Beauty

So, Simply Well Beauty was created in May of 2021. Simply Well Beauty is the intersection between my love for beauty, brides, and wellness. I've experienced many life transitions - from being a business owner, to a bride myself, and now a new mother. Additionally, we are living in a time where health and wellness in paramount. We're still in a global health pandemic, and many of us, including myself, are in some type of survival mode. Simply Well Beauty was created to help women who are experiencing these transitions feel well, feel beautiful, and feel like their authentic selves.

So there you have it! In a nutshell, that is how Simply Well Beauty was born - out of love, passion, frustration, and healing. My goal is to provide not only the best bridal beauty services, but to also have clients that are well. And if you're not well, I want you to be well. I hope you enjoy your time here, and that you find this blog to become a resource for your beauty and wellness needs.

Thanks for being here! Be blessed!

Melissa
