Frequently Asked Questions
How do I officially book Simply Well Beauty for my wedding?
I'm so happy that you’d like to work with me! Once I determine if I'm available for your date, a copy of my contract will be sent to you via email through Dubsado. The contract can be completed online and singed electronically. You will also receive an invoice for your non-refundable retainer payment of $500, which will be deducted from the total balance of your services. Upon receiving your contract and retainer payment, your date will be considered “booked”. If you should place your retainer prior to returning your contract, please be aware that we only allow a 48 hour grace period to hold the date, and if both items have not been returned within those 48 hours, the retainer is considered forfeited.
Can you handle larger parties?
I work independently, and I am able to personally provide up to 6 services on the wedding day. This can look like 3 hair and makeup services, 6 hair or makeup services, or any combination of both. This is in order to ensure that anyone receiving a service has individual attention, a hygienically safe service, and to reduce person to person exposure. If more than 6 services are needed, I can either secure an additional artist for a fee of $150 per artist with a minimum of $750 in wedding day services, or provide recommendations for a few trusted teams that do have the capacity to serve larger parties after my services are booked.
Are your prices negotiable?
My rates are reflective of my skill, experience, and the level of service that I provide to my clients. Additionally, my pricing is set in order to be consistent for each of my clients. Because of this, my rates are not negotiable.
What COVID safety precautions do you have in place?
Hygiene and sanitation has always been a priority in my services. Some of my standard protocol includes disinfecting and sanitizing my products and tools using 70% alcohol, using disposable applicators when appropriate, and being diligent about handwashing and sanitizing. During all services, I will wear a mask to cover the mouth and nose if requested by my client, and in instances when the client's mouth cannot be covered (for example, while having makeup applied) a face shield may be worn in addition to the mask. Additional time will also be scheduled between clients in order to properly clean and sanitize my workspace.
What products do you use?
I use a variety of professional quality products, including vegan and cruelty free options. I use and recommend Arbonne skin care, cosmetics and nutrition products, which can be purchased through my Arbonne website. I also use many other trusted professional and luxury brands that will help your hair and makeup to survive the day and photograph well.
Can you do all hair and skin types?
Absolutely! I'm known and often booked for my ability to work with highly textured and naturally curly hair, as well as my skill for applying makeup to various skin tones. Being able to work with all hair textures and skin tones isn't just important to you - it's important to me, too.
Do you offer airbrush?
Yes - and no! I've found that traditional liquid or cream foundation usually gives the most "skin-like" results, and when applied and set correctly gives long-wearing durable results. Traditional foundation is my preference for most clients. With that being said, I do also offer KETT Cosmetics airbrush foundation application, and this service is included in the cost of all makeup services.
Do you offer false lashes?
Yes, lashes are also included in all makeup services.
Do you come to my location? Is there a fee?
At this time, I work strictly on-location and will come to you to provide your service for both the bridal preview session and the wedding day. Pricing for the Bride Only Beauty Experience includes the cost of mileage for up to 50 miles, round trip. Mileage for all other bridal beauty packages is billed at a rate of $1 per mile, round trip. Tolls, parking and valet must also be compensated. If a relocation is required on the wedding day (any instance where my kit must be packed up and moved to another location), and it is not included in your bridal beauty package, a fee of $75 will apply. Mileage for bridal preview sessions is billed at a rate of $1 per mile.
Do you stay for touch ups?
I do provide touch up services, and I highly encourage them. Touch ups are ideal for brides who are doing a first look, taking pictures prior to the ceremony, wearing multiple dresses throughout the day, want hair and/or makeup altered after the ceremony, or who simply want an elevated and pampered experience on their wedding day. The Bridal Touch Up Experience and the Bride Only Beauty Experience both include 2 hours of pre/post ceremony touch ups. All of our bridal beauty packages include an additional 15 minutes at the completion of your service for any final touch ups. If you'd like to book additional hours, you may do so for a fee of $125/hr., with a 2 hour minimum.
Can you come only for touch ups?
I can! My Bridal Dresser service is perfect for the bride who is interested in having someone on hand simply to make sure that she looks her best throughout the evening. When booking me as your Bridal Dresser, I can take care of tasks such as steaming the dress(es) and veil, organizing your accessories for the photographer, assisting and ensuring you look picture perfect during your photography session, and being on hand to handle any fashion emergencies or taking care of simple tasks such as grabbing a glass of champagne or water for the bride.
Do you recommend booking a hair and/or makeup bridal preview session?
I believe that the preview should be considered an essential part of your bridal beauty experience, so a Preview Session is included in our Half and Full Day Bridal Beauty Experience options, and is available separately with our A La Carte Bridal Experience. If you have not secured your wedding date with me yet, the rate for a preview is $200 per service. Having a preview is your chance to create the perfect look for your wedding day, and also gives you the opportunity to get to know the artist who will be working with you throughout your planning process and on the day of your wedding.
I schedule 1.5 hours for each service preformed during a preview (ex. Hair or makeup only will be 1.5 hours, hair and makeup will be 3 hours). I will consult with you prior to your bridal preview session to make sure that you’re prepared, and I ask that you bring in your veil, headpiece, or hair accessories so that it can be worked into your style.
When should I book my hair and/or makeup preview?
If you’ve already secured your date with me, I recommend booking your preview 1-3 months prior to the wedding. If you have not secured your date with me yet, and would like to book a preview in order to help make your decision, I recommend booking your preview as soon as possible. Please remember that previews do not secure your wedding date.
Where and when do you do previews?
Previews are held either at your home, or at a location to be determined at the time of booking your service. Previews are held on Friday and Saturday from 9am – 3:00pm. Sunday appointments may be accommodated given availability for the date that you request.
Can I have my trial on the same day as my Engagement/Boudoir Pictures, etc?
Yes, however, I don’t recommend it unless you are planning to have the same look on your wedding day. I offer separate hair and makeup services for bridal related events.
